{ Forms and Filing }

All forms are available directly from the web at: www.cic.gc.ca.
See www.LEGIThamilton.ca for assistance.

Refer to the sections Family Class Applications, Skilled Worker Class and Humanitarian & Compassionate Requests to determine in which category you should apply. Click on all the links in that section to bring up the required forms.

Once you determine which Application Class best fits your case, have printed off and completed the correct forms, you will need to determine where to send the forms and accompanying documentation. See International Missions.

Keep a copy of EVERYTHING that you send regarding your application. Send originals only where required. Keep a copy of all originals you send.

Record the details and dates of every action or call you take and receive, note the receipt of every mail you receive, keep the receipt of every courier package you send.

Use only shipping methods for documents that provide proof of delivery.Do not lie or provide misleading information on your application. It would mean immediate rejection.

On the History section of the application, make sure there are no gaps (show periods of working, vacations, hospital, student, military, unemployed, etc) since age 18 or last 10 years –whichever is greater. There must not be any gaps. [ie: The Government wants to know how much time you spent in Bin Laden Training Camps. :-)  ] Show all addresses as best you can remember.

Your living/working addresses and your addresses during schooling must mesh seamlessly. Otherwise you can expect lots of probing as officials sniff for trouble.

If something changes that may affect your existing application, send a letter explaining the changes.
