Immigration and Refugee Protection Procedures

This is the set of general procedures that are supplied to the Immigration Department to instruct them how to interpret the IRPA and Regulations (above). It is not necessary for you to read or understand these procedures in order to complete your application, but it will give the applicant/sponsor an idea of the mind set on the Immigration Dept. side of the process.

The Procedures are divided broadly into 2 different streams:
1. Processing Overseas applicants (OPs)
2. Processing In-Canada applicants (IPs)
